Opening the conversation

AI can widen access to quality learning resources

Dr. Amos Nungu, Director General of the Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH), served as Guest of Honour and officially opened the High-Level Stakeholder Dissemination and Validation Workshop on AI-Generated Kiswahili STEM Multimedia Content.

In his remarks, Dr. Nungu highlighted the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence in teaching and learning. He emphasised how AI and digital technologies can support new approaches to education and contribute to learning resources that are both accessible and high quality.

From research to classroom use

Demonstrating the pipeline—and putting it to the test

The workshop moved beyond a project presentation. Stakeholders saw the complete content-generation experience and assessed whether its outputs are ready to support Tanzanian educators and learners.

  • Share the project findings and the evidence gathered so far
  • Demonstrate the AI content-generation pipeline and Kiswahili STEM multimedia outputs
  • Showcase the Learning Management System and Elimu AI content library
  • Gather feedback on content quality, relevance, correctness and usability

Looking ahead

Building a practical pathway to adoption and scale

The discussions explored what it will take for the innovation to move from a promising research output to a dependable educational resource. Participants considered sustainability, institutional adoption, technology transfer and scale-up.

Their feedback will inform the project’s next phase and create opportunities for continued collaboration across education, research, government and technology.
